Our Divine Responsibility

Dear Readers,

As a woman I have the great responsibility given to me by Heavenly Father to bear and care for children, which to me is an amazing and one of the most important responsibilities that Heavenly Father has given us. This is such a marvelous responsibility that the Lord has given; he has entrusted us to care for and raise his precious treasures and he trusts us to teach of Him and bring His children back to His loving arms.  Children are such a great joy in life, even though some days can be rough, especially when there are tantrums involved. Tantrums can be extremely difficult to deal with but through my experience (even though somewhat limited), I have found that yelling and harsh words/responses only increase the tantrum's intensity and it can make the child feel as though they are unloved. It breaks my heart when I see children being constantly yelled at especially if there is no threatening situation involved. I believe that the harshness of yelling should be saved for when a child is in a harmful situation, I also believe that if a child is yelled at constantly, when a scary situation is presented and yelling is needed to save the child from harm, the child will have tuned out the yelling because they are so used to it. Children deserve to be treated with respect and love. I also believe that children constantly watch what we do and they begin to copy us. When we are harsh with children they are learning that the way to deal with a situation is through harshness and anger, so we always need to be aware of how we act around children and what we say around them. I know that some days can be really hard to deal with, especially with screaming children, and refraining from yelling or harshness is definitely more difficult than it may be made out to be, but just remember that this, too, shall pass and children are often just as frustrated as you are. Heavenly Father is always there to help with the hard times, we just need to trust Him and honor the responsibility that He has given us to raise and take care of His precious children and do the best we can.

Thanks for reading! Until next time :)
